There’s no time like the new year to master your money.

Tired of feeling as though you’re not sure of what’s going out versus what’s coming in? You’re in the right place.

Take control with these tips.

1. Get organised 🤓

The key to success is organisation. Luckily, you don’t have to do it by yourself.

Download an app that sorts out your spending automatically. At a tap, you’ll see how much you’re spending on groceries, transport, clothes, movies — and the rest.

2. Budget like a champ 💪🏿

Once you see your spending, work out where to save. Even simple steps, like cooking at home an extra night each week, can add up.

Make it more interesting by challenging yourself. What’s the most fun you can have with $20?

3. Be fearful of fads 😨

It’s easy to pour money into a fad—whether it’s a barbiecore outfit for your birthday or the latest OTT cocktail.

If you frequently splurge on things you hadn’t even dreamt of a month before, then work on nurturing a healthy fear of fads.

4. Work your savings harder 🏋🏼‍♀️

Are your savings crawling like a tortoise, when they could be galloping like a thoroughbred?

With interest rates on the up, there’s a bunch of ways to make your savings work harder. Consider high interest accounts, term deposits, and ‘round up’ apps that save your loose change.

5. Bump up your credit score ☝️

A healthy credit score enables you to borrow money whenever you need it.

Bump up yours by making repayments on time, getting a credit card, avoiding applying for multiple lines of credit, and keeping an eye on your score.

Master your money now 💰

There’s no time like now.

If you start getting on top of your money today, then, within a few months, you could surprise yourself.
