We are delighted to welcome NAIDOC Week, a significant event dedicated to recognising and celebrating the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC, which stands for National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee, is a week-long commemoration held annually across Australia. This year, NAIDOC Week runs from July 2nd to July 9th, and we encourage all MME employees to actively engage in the activities and initiatives taking place. This year’s theme: For Our Elders.

NAIDOC Week provides us with a remarkable opportunity to deepen our understanding of the rich and diverse Indigenous cultures that have shaped this land for thousands of years. It is a time to listen, learn, and show our respect to the First Nations peoples and their ongoing connection to Country. By embracing NAIDOC Week, we can contribute to the reconciliation process and foster a stronger sense of unity and inclusivity within our organisation and wider community.

MONEYME has an endorsed Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan or ‘RAP’, but we are still very much at the beginning of our reconciliation journey. Our key priorities at the moment are to listen and learn from First Nations peoples and communities and to help inform staff about reconciliation and how they can get involved. We really want to have a genuine and long-lasting positive impact in this space and in order to do this we want to make sure we are engaging with and listening to Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.

So, if you are a First Nations person and a member of the community then we kindly invite you to reach out, we would love to hear from you. Our RAP Working Group wants to learn more about how MONEYME might be able to support First Nations communities – please email us at esg@moneyme.com.au to introduce yourself.
